Hi Jerry

What you need is all in the online data definitions. It should be your bible as a report writer.

For your target field, I found your field in this segment of EDM.COMPLAINT.

ovr.pt.instructions
[mnemonic,ovr.q,  ovr.pt.instr.q]
&(HE)HEDC[hedc]O[hedcO]PI[hedIQ]

Any field ending in a ".q" usually indicates a counter. Therefore to get ovr.pt.instr.urn, you will need to provide two counter subscripts to access your data.

I don't know how yo want to use this information on the report so I can't suggest how to get at it in either a data field or a macro.

If you just want to see something in a data field entering in @ovr.pt.instr.urn[1,1] will likely get you something.

I'll repeat it one more time for emphasis, as a report writer, you should use the online data definitions to solve problems like this. Keep them at your finger tips, they can be your friend!

Hope this helps,

David

Hi Jerry,

What version of Meditech are you on?  Are you trying to build a fragment report or will you be combining your data with more information?

Hi David,

I did get data with your suggestion, thank you for your help.

I do have the online data definitions always on and accessible on my browser and continuously looking through them. I’m still learning how to use it. I’m only a few months into report writing and learning something every day… and now I know what fields ending in “.q” mean, THANKS!

Hi Jennifer,

We are C/S 5.65. I'm trying to print data from the target field combined with other data.
